Making of Mahlkonig EK43 Grinder | Visiting Mahlkoenig Factory in Hamburg
Mahlkoenig EK43 grinder is one of the best coffee grinders in the world. http://europeancoffeetrip.com/seeing-mahlkoenig-production/
In February we headed to Hamburg to pay a visit to our dear sponsors Mahlkoenig. Nestled in the tranquil north-eastern outskirts of Hamburg, Hemro Group’s Mahlkoenig factory produces some of the best grinders on the market today. One of them is the legend EK43. We were pleased to join their team for two educative days and see the whole production!

Thanks Jardo! Did you find anything interesting there?:)
I like how many women work there and how many hugs from them you get:DDD No without kidding, I ve never seen how to sharp grinders. so many eye catching moments! Great job
Mostly marketing team though:) it was quite fascinating to see what does it takes to make on grinder but I think you can really see it from 4 minutes video.
Awesome content! Thanks guys!!
Thank you, it is a pleasure to visit such a place. Mahlkoenig was also our first official sponsor so we are really thankful for their support.
And I want that EK43 Limited Edition. 😂😂😂
Well, there is only 222 pieces around the world. We were thinking about a video showing how they are spread around the world:) What do you think?
European Coffee Trip, yes I know, also Matt Perger has one. ☺
wooowww….
Yes! Thanks:)
awesome work guys 🙂 loved it.
Thank you man. Looking forward to create some video together at some point!
felt like one of those “How it is made videos” on discovery channel :D… great job!!!
Thank you – that means a lot to us. Trying to make our production better one video at the time, happy it is worth it.
Much love from California. Loved the video, wish it was 30 minutes long haha
Thank you Calvin! Greetings from Brno:) Perhaps we should consider making a longer version at some point, exploring the whole history of EK43 or coffee grinding in general.
that would be very interesting. the grinder is such and important part of the brewing process and there are so many ways to do it. amazing how almost everywhere I go I see ek43s. People just love them. U guys are so lucky to have a tiny one.
Cool Video! btw how i can get one EK43 LE?
Thank you! Well, that is a good question. As there is only 222 pieces of EK43 LE I guess it would be pretty hard to get one.
Thank you so much for your kind respond
How much do you want one? There’s a guy in Germany who has 5, and will sell one of them for $5k USD…*facepalm*. I”ve been searching for this grinder for months, still no luck. They sold out in less than one day.
dose ek 43 need special adjustment for grinding turkish coffee ? or need to change disc ( i heard that it has special turkish disc )
Mahlkonig has turkish burrs available. I was told that the newer burrs (2014+) are able to grind for very fine espresso, and even turkish.
I Love Mahlkoning & I’m EK43 home user. It gives me sweet & balanced cup of Espresso
