Building the coffee roastery with Rebelbean | ECT Weekly #015
Our friends from Rebelbean were building their coffee roasting business over 3 years and right now they have built their new space in Brno, Czech Republic. Let us show you before and after scene of their new roastery.
We are proud to have Rebelbean as a roaster of the month in April, 2017. Read their story: https://europeancoffeetrip.com/rebelbean-roaster-of-the-month/

I saw this live on Instagram! Good job guys 🙂
Yeah! So now you can compare how did it look like from phone and the proper camera. Was it interesting on Instagram?
Yes it was, also it was nice to hear you reading my Cheers from Bratislava comment .
Great Article/Video. Just curious, how big is there roasting facility? Cheers
Hey Sean, it is a good question:) Big space would be like 10 x 8 meters but we may ask for proper numbers. Then they have small storage room etc.
Hi the whole roastery is 100 square meters including the production room which is 70m and than two rooms each 15m 😉 From the beginning it seemed too big however when we moved in we found it just enough. Hopefuly we will grow out of here in a few years! Will see, fingers crossed!
Jan appreciate the info.
By the way you guys are doing a great jobs on the videos, keep up the good work👌
Thank you, Sean!! We will try to keep making them as long as possible:)
I follow you guys from Dubai UAE.
Cheers to Dubai! We heard about many great roaster/cafes there. I have no doubts we will come some day.
Great job!
Thank you Michal! Help us to share it with more people:)
European Coffee Trip – yeah, will do! Love Rebel bean and your videos as well.
Awesome!!
Thanks mate!
Very interesting to see how a roastery is built!
Glad you like it Alex! Have you been inside of any roastery before?
Yes! La Cabra / Great Coffee (Aarhus), Hopplo (Frankfurt), Mahlefitz (Munich), Neues Schwarz (Dortmund), Toby’s Estate (New York)
Great list actually:)
Do you know whether they plan on adding in an afterburner or destoner? Do they really destone by hand? That takes ages!
We have no idea about that but Michal and Honza from Rebelbean will answer in a few days.
Hi, so far we do not plan to add any of these. Afterburner is very gas consuming so maybe just an electro-static filter would be enough when we start roasting more than now.
Destoner I don”t find necessary. Yeah we find time to time one stone in lets say 300kg but what we sort by hand mostly are quackers and some damaged beans which you can find more or less in every coffee. This control worth the time and energy because we are 100% sure that customers receive the best!
Okay, right on:) I wish you all the best with the new roastery! Looks beautiful!
BTW, your channel is awesome. I’m a roaster in Canada – and love how your videos enable vicarious exploration of cafes in Europe for those who are far away:)
Thank you!! Hopefully, it also motivates you to visit Europe some say:) What is the brand of your roastery? Will check it out … or you can send us some samples of your coffees to taste. Cheers.
What is the maximum capacity of your roaster ??
Hi Adamski, you can roast 15kg of green beans max.
Thanks for the question and answer guys:)

Hey Brayden! Thanks, will check your vids. I know you did the AeroPress recipes some times ago. Sorry to answer late, Youtube got it as a spam.
Is the roaster Siemens or the software?
